Personal Experience:

He was born in Jilin city, Jilin province in 1967. He graduated from the Department of Russian Language and Literature, PLA University of International Relations, in 1990, and got his PhD from the Graduate School of China Academy of Social Sciences (CASS) in 2005. He was once a lieutenant Colonel associate fellow at the Department of General Staff, PLA. He then worked as an associate fellow, fellow, deputy director and later director of the Section of Strategic Studies, Institute of Russian, East European and Central Asian Studies, CASS. From 2007 to 2008, he was a visiting scholar at Vilnius University, Lithuania. He has visited Russia, United States, Japan, Poland, Greece, Czech Republic and many other countries for academic exchanges.

His area of research focuses on political, diplomatic and security affairs of the former Soviet Union and the Eastern European region. He has been responsible for important projects for the Department of General Staff, PLA, the National Development Bank, CASS, National Social Science Foundation and the CASS Library. He is the sole author of one book, has been an associate editor-in-chief or executive associate editor-in-chief for 5 books, and has co-edited 7 books and one textbook. As a result of his outstanding academic achievements, he was honored as a member of the “Triple 3 Talents” and “Two Thousand Talents” at the Department of General Staff, PLA. He has won 13 other PLA awards, and 2nd and 3rd prices of the CASS 2010 Excellent Scientific Achievement Awards, and was a frequent recipient of the CASS Excellent Decision-Making Information Award. He is a frequent speaker at public forums, and has been invited over 80 times for academic reports or situation analysis at CCTV, research institutes, universities, the PLA, the Armed Police and other relevant departments.
