Professor Benjamin Page from the Department of Political Science of Northwestern Universiity gave a lecture to the students of the Department of International Relations in the Room 335 of Xinzhai Building from 7:30 to 9:00 on November 7th. Prof Page delivered a presentation on “Why American Politics is such a Mess”. Prof. Chuanjie Zhang moderated the lecture and Prof. Horace Campbell took part in as well. In retrospect of the current American government shutdown, Prof. Page revealed several serious problems of American politics. In the Q&A session, local and international students raised a variety of questions, on American government shutdown, opinion-policy relations, etc.
