The eighth academic activity of Developing Country Studies (DCS) Program in autumn semester was held in the Room 315 of Mingzhai Building from 11:45 to 13:15 on December 23th.
Guo Jie, Associate Professor in Department Of International Relations of Peking University, gave a presentation on her paper ‘observation of Latin America’s politics: Beyond left and right’. She briefly introduced the process of democratization in Latin America since the beginning of the 20th century and expressed her opinions about the issues of the political changes, the current situation, the future trend as well as the Sino-Latin American relations. The purpose of the presentation is to demonstrate a colorful Latin American political landscape and to provide a historical perspective of area study for DCS doctoral students.
